Calling all bike riding enthusiasts - BMX bandits, MAMIL and families looking for a bike riding adventure.Have you heard there is a new mountain bike track in town? Introducing the recently opened , located in the Western Sydney Parklands at Cecil Hills.



It includes multiple mountain bike trails as well as a jump run and pump tracks, shelters and wash down facilities. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and is free for all to use.



We did the Kids Loop but there is also a 3km trail, 6km and 12km trails. The Kids Loop, signposted in orange, starts off pretty tame but gets more difficult as you go along. It includes small hills, hair pin turns and rock sections.



You don't have to be Cadel Evans but you do need some skills in getting over the obstacles. I would suggest that kids need to be confident riders for this course. The trail takes around 10 - 15 minutes depending on your speed and how often you need to stop.

If BMX is more your style then you would love the jump run and pump tracks.



We were really impressed with this fantastic new facility and think it is a great addition to the area. The centre was being well-used the morning we went and I can imagine it will only get busier as it becomes more well known. There are some good shelters with tables and seats for cooling off after your ride as well as wash down facilities for your bike. Bike racks and car parking facilities are also provided.

There is no café or toilet facilities as yet but they are planned for later stages of development. The park is open now but there is also a Community Open Day scheduled for Sunday 12th October 2014. Well worth checking out. BYO bikes, helmets, water & lycra.
