The superstars of the ring are heading back to Australia in July, to slam, smash, crash and bash their way to supremacy in front of thousands of salivating screaming fans at Sydney Olympic Parks Allphones Arena.

I grew up watching wrestling, it was an obscure little 15 minute segment on Wide World of Sports, and then we would wait with breathless anticipation for the Video release. Harassing my father to drive us to the video store to score the latest match, obviously months after it actually happened. Now we see it almost directly from the United States on a bi-weekly basis through Foxtel, and the big events are live through pay-per-view. This has meant an explosion of interest in the sports entertainment franchise, which has resulted in them coming to Australia 2-3 times a year.

It is not the cheapest form of entertainment, but it is one of the better forms. It is loud, bright, exciting, and hard not to get caught up in the melodrama of it all. I have taken my kids a few times and each time is a different experience, they yell, shout, hold up signs and immerse themselves in the theatre of it all. The great thing is you will see real athletes engaged in a truly athletic endeavour combined with the theatre of a midday soap opera. It is a little bit of everything all wrapped up in on neatly choreographed show.

The trip sees the RAW franchise of WWE hit our shores and smash their way into Allphones Arena on July 27. For those in the know some of the WWE Superstars that will, at this point, be touring includes; John Cena, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, Rey Mysterio and Natalya. This is just a sample of the full roster that will make the trip down-under.

Just a warning, all the conditions say the card is subject to change. This has happened to me before, where I attended only to find a big draw card was out. This is a risk that must be considered when you buy your tickets. I still had a blast.

It is a great night of entertainment for the whole family, so strap on your luchador mask and power-bomb your way to a night of high octane entertainment.
