Writing Fridays are in progress again every Friday at libraries and Community Centres across the Sunshine Coast.
Whether you are a novice writer or an accomplished author this program coordinated by the
Queensland Writers Centre (the leading support and resource Centre for writers in QLD) welcomes people of all stages in their writing journey in all genres and styles.
The sessions are structured using the
Pomodoro Technique which means writers will spend 25 minutes on focused writing followed by a 5 minute interval to stretch, take a short walk or chat with your fellow writers and then its back to your laptop or pen and paper to repeat writing for another 25 minutes. This technique is a time-management tool that was started by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s and is used by millions of people across the globe to increase productivity.

If you are an aspiring author, poet, critic, academic, storyteller, comedian or a scribbler, attending a Writing Friday workshop regularly will help strengthen your writing muscles to develop the discipline needed to complete your projects.
This is also an opportunity to cultivate your craft, develop consistent creativity and practice using a proven technique to help build a sustainable writing career in a supportive environment of kindred spirits- you may even make new friends!
Writing Friday groups are in progress at different libraries and locations across the Sunshine Coast in Maroochydore, Maleny, Caloundra and Pomona.
If you'd like to start your own group, you can contact the Qld Writers Centre (QWC). Attendance is free and no booking is required- just rock up on the day.

Maroochydore:
Location: Library Support Building, 44 Sixth Ave, Cotton Tree
When: 8:30am - 12:30pm, 1st and 3rd Friday of month
Maleny:
Location: Maleny Library, 5 Coral St, Maleny
When: 12:00pm - 3:00pm, every Friday
Caloundra:
Location: Caloundra Library Administration Building, 8 Omrah Ave, Caloundra (red brick building beside the library)
When: 10:00am - 4:00pm, every Friday except 2nd Friday of the month
Pomona
Address: Pomona Community Centre, 1 Memorial Avenue, Pomona
When: 9:30am - 11:30am, every second Tuesday
