The original artefacts and portraits of the world's most influential and literary changing writers will be on display at the Writers Revealed Exhibition: Treasures from the British Library and National Portrait Gallery at the Home of the Arts on the Gold Coast from 13 April 2025 to 3 August 2025.
The international Exhibition will showcase rare, intimate manuscripts, letters, and illustrations, as well as published editions from the British Library and portraits from some of the all-time greatest writers.
Imagine seeing historic pieces from the greatest literary artists ever to have penned classics. The British bard William Shakespeare,
Jane Austen , the Brontë sisters, William Blake, Virginia Woolf, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
J R R Tolkien , author of
Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll, Sir Kazuo Ishiguro and Zadie Smith are all represented.

These are the writers who have brought us classic books such as
Pride and Prejudice, a fantasy novel turned film,
Lord of the Rings , and plays such as
Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and
As You Like It. 2025 marks the 250th Anniversary of Jane Austen's birth so visiting the exhibition may be another to celebrate this important date for the author and the contribution she has made to literature in arts history.
Explore six centuries of world-famous portraits and rare manuscripts from these literary legends. with over 100 rare manuscripts and first editions, alongside 70 iconic portraits, all featured together for the very first time.

Home of the Life is a contemporary cultural precinct located on the Gold Coast at 135 Bundall Rd,
Surfers Paradise . A parkland and a lake surround the venue and present live music, theatre, dance, comedy, opera, children's performances, art exhibitions, and cinema. HOTA is approximately 78 kilometres from Brisbane.
