Meet your favourite authors, illustrators and more
Writers, storytellers, publishers, arts associations, performers, illustrators, poets, cartoonists, literacy advocates - they'll all be at the Writers in the Park event being held in the beautiful Centennial Parklands on Sunday, 27 September 2015.
This free event has something for everyone - big and small.
For the kids, come and meet some of your favourite award winning children's authors and illustrators. Pamela Allen, Deborah Abela, Sarah David, Julie Hunt, James Foley, Louise Park, Anna Pignataro and others will be there to meet and greet and to launch some great books. The kids will also love seeing and learning from the illustrators at work, along with other performers and entertainers. And they won't want to miss the exciting illustrator duel.
For the big kids, Jessica Rowe will be at the event talking about her new book "Is This My Beautiful Life?". Joanne McCarthy, Gold Walkley journalist, will be interviewing Graham Rundle about his autobiography entitled "44" which exposes the hardships of growing up in a boys' home. You'll also have the opportunity to see author and journalist, Susanna Freymark, crime writer, P.M. Newton, and more.
There'll also be book signings, book stalls, stories and songs, talks on cyber-bullying and, for the foodies among you, catering will be by Matt Moran's Aria in the heritage grounds of The Residences in the Park.
Come along and listen, laugh, browse the bookstore, enjoy delicious food and coffee or bring a picnic - all in the beautiful surrounds of Australia's oldest public parklands.
If you love books, stories and imagination coming to life, don't miss this special event.
