It's YOUR time to be creative
Do you have an idea swimming around in your head or a file saved on your laptop, but no outlet to publish your creative fiction? Then you might want to visit the Narrativs website. Narrativs is an online platform dedicated to collecting meaningful stories worldwide and is currently looking for submissions.
Narrativs is a Melbourne start-up, aiming to connect people through the art of storytelling. This social enterprise, run entirely by young professionals, is the first of its kind, reinforcing the notion that Melbourne is Australia's culture capital.
Get published for a good cause
Narrativs accepts all forms of submissions, from poetry to short stories to creative non-fiction. Your imagination is the limit, but quality and insight are paramount. Narrativs' purpose is twofold: firstly, to create a beautiful, vintage reading and writing experience online; secondly, to promote literacy in developing countries.
Both of these initiatives merge through the Narrativs Education Fund. In the near future, Narrativs will be releasing a book of contributor submissions and the profits will go to charities advocating literacy. This means your work could be featured in the Narrativs book, too!
Right now, Narrativs is causing a ripple in America, where founder Rachel Bui is speaking about Narrativs to schools on the East Coast, outlining the importance of story-telling and literacy in the fight against poverty.
Here, she is screening Narrativs' first short film, Unbound, on the importance of connecting with others, writing and what it means to be human in the 21st century. This inspiring film outlines Narrativs' beliefs: namely, that there will always be a need for humans to connect to one another, and this connection begins with words.
As Rachel puts it, "Narrativs aims to connect people on a deeper level." She was inspired to create Narrativs after a trip to Europe; while visiting friends in multiple countries, she realized that everyone has a story to tell, and that story can inspire strangers on the other side of the globe. Upon her return to Melbourne, Narrativs was born to collect these stories.
Submitting a work to Narrativs isn't a mere submission. It's a journey into the core of human connections. If you have something suitable, sign up now to make your mark.
