Wreck It Ralph is about the 'villain' in the game, Fix-It-Felix, who desperately wants to be liked and sees being the 'good guy' as his one way to respect.

In every game there is a medal the heroes get if they win, and Ralph decides to enter another game to get his own medal and prove he's good.

That journey leads to a series of events which lands him in the game Sugar Rush, where he meets glitch Vanellope von Schweetz who desperately wants to race.

Forced together, they must discover the mystery behind King Candy and the reason behind Vanellope's glitch.

Although marketed to kids (screening in Australia during the school holidays), Wreck It Ralph is surprisingly adapted to both adults and young children.

Older people would remember playing Pacman and the younger kids would relate to the realistic 'first person' style of the more modern video games.

As this is Disney, there is a moral to this story but it's very subtly done; it's not overbearing but you get the idea of what they're trying to tell you.

I docked off a mark as there is an element of predictability but there is a twist in the movie that was unexpected.

Overall this movie is great fun for all. 4/5
