I'm a mother of four with two coeliac children. I'm always on the lookout for great gluten-free spots around Brisbane and feature gluten-free cooking in my blog: coeliacfamily.blogspot.com.au
I'm also a muso and enjoy live music around town.

Wrapped Cafe: a Good Excuse to Forget Your Lunch Tomorrow
With the opening of the new M & A Building between Ann Street and McLaughlin Streets, the Valley has seen a number of new food outlets opening up, catering to those who missed breakfast, lunch time office workers, apartment owners and bypassers. One of these is Wrapped Cafe. Following on from their successful family owned and run stores in Eagle Street overlooking the Story Bridge and at Hamilton in the new Hamilton Harbour Complex, this outlet is a one-stop shop for breakfast, fresh sandwiches and wraps, great coffee and delectable treats.
The Cabinets Are Full of Freshly Made Sandwiches, Wraps and Sweet Treats
Cabinets display a wide range of ready made sandwiches and wraps for those on the go, which can be toasted if you prefer. In addition, you can design your own sandwich or have a made to order burger, like the Big Boy (steak, bacon, egg, beetroot, onion, cheese, lettuce, tomato and BBQ sauce) or a Greek lamb burger. There are also great breakfast options, including Lime Avocado on Vienna Toast or Eggs Bendict with smoked salmon, or if you're a little more hungry you can have the $17 Big Breakfast, complete with bacon, eggs, sausages, rib filet, mushrooms, hash brown, tomato and toast!
Having my coeliac son in tow, I was a bit concerned that we wouldn't find anything gluten free, however on enquiring we were advised that they had gluten free wraps and bread available to make up special treats. He really enjoyed his toasted wrap for which he chose a chicken and haloumi filling. I tried one of the ready made cabinet offerings, a Haloumi and Chicken sandwich which I had toasted. It was nice and fresh and very tasty.
We couldn't leave without a treat, and a nice surprise that many of the cakes on display were gluten free. Of course we had to choose chocolate and my son being a connoisseur of gluten free cakes proclaimed it one of the best he had ever had. It went very well with my Piazza Doro Latte, that's for sure. Also available were a wide range of fresh fruits (which they will make into a fresh juice for you), salads, yoghurts and milkshakes.
Wrapped are also able to cater for functions with a minimum of five people. You can find out more on their Website or check out their Facebook Page. They can provide a variety of breakfast, lunch or sweet options. I foresee that this will be a very busy outlet, great for a quick bite or a lingering lunch.
