FUN FACTS: Vermicompost is the product of decomposition material using worms to create a mixture of decomposing food waste, bedding material and vermicast. The latter is the end product of organic matter created by earthworms. This process was so important, that NASA supported a primary school project to send worms to the International Space Station to see if they would create compost in zero gravity conditions.

On 7 March 2020, City of Kwinana will be teaching guests how to create their own little wiggly worm farm. This is a great incentive for sustainable living by teaching locals how to convert kitchen waste into fertiliser.

This hands-on workshop is a great way to learn more about worm farming. It includes a practical demonstration of setting up, operating and maintaining a worm farm.

This workshop is free to attend and bookings are essential . A fully established worm farm package will be available for purchase for all City of Kwinana residents for only $100.00. Proof of residency will be required. For further information, please contact Trish on 9439 0275 or [email protected]
