Be a devil - shave your head or go a bizarre colour
The World's Greatest Shave has been running now for some years and is a fundraiser to help find a cure and living with blood cancers.

It is a great fun event that so many people can easily help out with, while at the same time enjoy themselves and get a few good laughs.

The World's Greatest Shave aims to raise $16.2 million in 2019 and ordinary people like you and me can help by getting ourselves sponsored to shave or colour our hair. This event started off as just one for men who grew beards and shaved them off on a particular day, however, the event has now progressed considerably and females can also now organise events!

Some of the illnesses that these events will help and give further research and clinical trials to include:

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)
Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN)
And more

You can read more about the Leukemia Foundation at this website.

There are several ways you can approach this World's Greatest Shave and these include having your hair coloured, cut or waxed and asking friends and family to sponsor you.

When you sign up and begin to raise money for World's Greatest Shave, you are giving those families and individuals who have a blood cancer the emotional and practical support they need so desperately. The research that goes into this will also enable sufferers to live a better life, so this event is SO worthwhile.

Please help to make the lives of sufferers a bit easier, help to establish more research, and sign up at this link.

If you are shaving, it is suggested that you have a clipper length No.1 or No.2.

If you're opting for a slightly longer look, then choose No.3 or No.4.

Lots of men will decide to shave off their beards.

Perhaps you have a ponytail or even a man bun? If that is the case, then you can snip this off!

If shaving is not your thing, then you could choose a groovy colour for your hair! You can use bright hairspray from your local pharmacy and these wash out the next day, or you could dye it a bizarre colour, like purple or bright red if you dare!

Other things you could get creative in doing include adding glitter or flowers to your hair.

Perhaps style it into a bizarre hairstyle for a day, then shave as your big finale!

Wax your legs or arms, or if you are a male, your back and chest (ouch!)

Now, if you are a guy and already bald you could use some face paint to make something creative and be different! Or why not a stick on a tattoo that is bright and colourful!

There are many possibilities to raise money for this event. You could do this as follows:

An individual
Join a team - do a search for an existing team and join in with them
Start a team - you could start your own team and have your friends and family sign on with you.

To start your own team here are some suggestions:

1. PLAN: Find a venue, work out a date and time.

2. PROMOTE: Call 1800 500 088 and organisers will advertise your event on their website.

3. FUNDRAISE: Think of interesting ways to raise money on the day!

4. ON THE DAY: Think of how you can make participants feel relaxed, comfortable and satisfied with their personal commitment.

You could also sign up people from work, from school, or if you do not wish to do any of these options, you can always join the team of much-needed volunteers at the public World's Greatest Shave events in March 2019.
