Who doesn't love entertaining their kids with outdoor play in a social setting? World's Biggest Playgroup is an annual event that takes place in all states across Australia coordinated by Playgroup Australia. This event is arranged to celebrate the National Playgroup Week on an annual basis.

ACT Playgroups Association runs in Canberra for 2 hours on Wednesday during the National Playgroup Week in March each year. Families are invited to have fun in the park. There are lots of activities for children from birth to five years of age.



It is a well-organised event not to be missed. Children have fun chasing bubbles in the park, squishing the play dough, doing arts and crafts activities, reading story books, playing with sand and water, building cubby houses, dancing to music and exercising in the sun crawling through tunnels. There is sensory play for babies as well with rice bottles to shake and toys to rattle.



Snacks and coffee are often available on site depending on the venue. But bringing a water bottle, few snacks and sun screen always comes in handy. Event is generally free after entry but there is a small entry fee in the form of cash or coins and there might be a parking fee depending on the venue.



Strollers and prams can be taken to the event and the lovely volunteers and organisers give guidance about where to park them while having fun. However, baby carriers can be used as well since picnic mats and rugs are already set up at the event for families with babies to share and have heaps of fun together.
