Wordhood at Her Majesty's Theatre Adelaide
The Australian Dance Theatre and Tom Buchanan's Worldhood at Her Majesty's Theatre

Drawing and dance in collaboration? Not since Gene Kelly was an American In Paris has this been done but expect something more cutting edge, collaborative and less contrived in Worldhood at Her Majesty's Theatre.

Thom Buchanan will create vibrant sketches that evolve into sets that evolve into worlds for the brilliant dancers of the Australian Dance Theatre along with students for the Adelaide College of Arts.

Buchanan is a South Australia artist who explores urban landscapes

" My Paintings explores the built environment and questions our (my) own conquering consumption of the world.. "

For on Buchanan's works and philosophy go to the Tom Buchanan website.

The novel idea of Worldhood is to build from a few outlines to a distinct form to an explosion of energy that provokes contemplation on imagination, perception and the ever changing notion of existence. You have a man with a charcoal creating and a troop of dancers responding to the conditions through movement.

Worldhood has brilliant local creativity and the up and coming from of the Adelaide College of Art alongside one of Australia's most international renowned dance companies- all under the direction of choreographer Garry Stewart.
