Knitting for a Cause If you're unsure about what to knit on the day, there are a number of organisations and charities in Australia who are looking for volunteers to knit items such as beanies, toys, blankets and more. Here are just some of the many knitting projects currently around the country:
Australia-Wide Knit One, Give One - There are drop-off points in Victoria, and Lindcraft stores accept donations in all of their stores (Australia-wide)
Angel Blanket Australia Inc
This organisation is collecting knitted blankets in the following sizes: 40cm x 40cm, 60cm x 60cm or 80cm x 80cm.
The charity has over 7000 volunteers, knitting times such as socks, mittens, beanies and gloves, which are donated to over 40 hospitals & 4 Ronald McDonald Houses.
New South Wales The Knitters' Guild NSW have an extensive list of organisations that are seeking donations of knitted toys, beanies, blankets, gloves, singlets, Possum and macropod pouches, and more.
Wrap With Love - This organisation is based in NSW, however donations of wraps, yarn or knitted squares can be posted from anywhere in Australia.
