Over 350 competitors from around the world will be coming to Australia to battle it out on the water for a full-on four days of water-skiing action. As we all know, Queensland has some of the most beautiful waterways in Australia, and this year Ski Racing Queensland endeavours to create an entertaining event for all the family to enjoy. Athletes from countries throughout Europe, New Zealand and the United States will be competing for the ultimate world championship crown. There are six main events that will be taking place: the F1 men's and women's, the F2 men's and women's, and the junior boys and girls. These top-class water ski's can reach speeds in excess of 160km/hr and are worth a whopping quarter of a million dollars – so to see some top quality action, you don't have to go too far.
Of course, you are probably wondering what you are going to do for the rest of the seven day event. Well, not to worry, because there are plenty of events that you can attend throughout the week. There will be rides, music, displays, demonstrations, even helicopter joy flights, and much more. And the best thing about it – it's all free to enjoy.
