World Singing Day is an annual worldwide celebration of music that strives to get as many people as possible singing at the same time all over the world. World Singing Day is about community, humanity, and world peace. It is the singing event for everyone. The goal in 2017 is to have 10,000 people singing on all 7 continents.
The Blue Gum Community Centre in Brentwood will be taking part in World Singing Day celebrations on Saturday the 21st of October. The event will go from 10.30am to 11.30am. Admission will be free but you can give a gold coin donation if you wish. All donations will go towards the Australian Childrens Music Foundation.
The event is open to everyone and all age groups. Some of the songs that will be sung include American Pie, A Thousand Years, Hallelujah, I Love Rock 'n Roll, Say a Little Prayer for You, (Sittin' On) The Day of the Bay… and many more.
World Singing Day encourages people to share their singing online. Video yourself (or a group) singing at least 20 seconds of a song and then upload it to YouTube or Facebook by October 21 2017 with the hash tag #worldsingingday and then your name, city and country.
