For those with a serious interest in documentary photography, you will not want to miss viewing this exhibition held each year at the Powerhouse. From the 2nd to 24th of June this is the 55th exhibition and draws talent from professional press photographers, photo-journalists and documentary photographers from around the world.
Image displayed is the 2011 World Press Photo of the year.
This year over 5000 photographers have participated from 124 countries with 101,254 photographic submissions received. This event is sponsored by Canon worldwide and also receives support from the Dutch Postcode Lottery.
This exhibition can be viewed Monday 9am - 5pm and Tuesdays to Sundays 9am to 9pm. Be aware that some photos may be a bit disturbing as they are generally powerful in their imagery representation of world events.
