For every woman everywhere, wear a white shirt
In the lead up to World Ovarian Cancer Day on May 8th, there is a campaign to encourage everyone to think about how they can use their #PowerfulVoice for women living with ovarian cancer. Despite the difficult times, we find ourselves in, we all have the power to lift each other up and be a part of the chorus of voices calling for change.
Wear a White Shirt
Everyday four Australian women will find out they have ovarian cancer. Receiving this news is scary enough, but even more so at a time like this when many women may not have their usual support networks around them.
The White Shirt Campaign assists to raise the voices of women living with ovarian cancer and raise funds essential to supporting more innovative research to find an early detection test and also discover better, more effective treatments that will help women survive their diagnosis long term. Take the pledge to wear a White Shirt and use your #PowerfulVoice on May 8. More info available here.
This white shirt isn't just a wardrobe staple - this white shirt can save lives. One woman in Australia dies from ovarian cancer every 8 hours. That means in your average workday, like today, a woman will lose her battle against Australia's most deadly female cancer. This campaign promotes ovarian cancer research, and the critical need for an early detection test.
The White Shirt Campaign has been raising funds for innovative ovarian cancer research for the past 12 years. Please support the campaign by starting a fundraiser, making a donation or buying a white cotton shirt from Witchery (available May 6th). Get involved here.
There's never been a more important time to come together for life-saving ovarian cancer research. Take the pledge to show your support on World Ovarian Cancer Day and wear a white shirt on May 8.
