Well, this happens as a yearly event, so do not be shocked if you should see someone, and no need to call the police - just check the date.
Get ready for the Annual World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD)! People across the globe are encouraged, on the first Saturday of May, to "tend their portion of the world's garden unclothed as nature intended!"
Even people in small apartments can plant annuals and tend to their pot plants perhaps in a window box.
How often do you need to rake your lawn? Families can rake leaves in their backyard, and those without a garden can always pull out weeds in their favourite walking area.
Those people who are more daring, or perhaps less inhibited can make work in public parks to do "community-friendly stealth cleanups".
You might well ask - why garden naked?
First of all, it's fun! It is second only to swimming, and gardening is a hobby or necessary activity that some people would consider doing nude. Also, our culture needs to advance toward a healthy sense of both body acceptance, and our relation to the natural environment.
WNGD is not owned or organised by any one particular group - people and groups are encouraged to adapt to the day for themselves.
Some of the people who will take part in the event include naturist groups, or gardening clubs and in the case of WNGD, it's fun, it is free and can remind us of our ties to the natural world, and all this while doing a pleasant chore!
First of all, on the first Saturday of May, find an opportunity to get naked and do some gardening. You can do this alone, with friends, with family, with your gardening club, or with any other group getting together for that purpose. You can do it inside your house, in your backyard, on a hiking trail, at a city park, or on the streets - in other words, you can do this privately or go public if you dare! Dare to enhance your garden while wearing no clothes.
Secondly, tell your friends about your day of naked gardening; write down your experience and perhaps even email it to your local newspaper; you could even post to Facebook or an Internet site - just make sure the photos are discreet and not full frontal!
The next World Naked Gardening Day is Saturday 5th May 2018, and NBC's Today News states that WNGD "has become an annual tradition that celebrates weeding, planting flowers and trimming hedges in the buff. While it's linked to a movement of nudists who promote wholesome and unashamed acceptance of the human body, the day is meant to be funny and lighthearted, founders say."
