See great world music artists at a great venue with Tibetan
Lovers of World Music should check out the Queensland Multicultural Centre on September 23 for a great performance by Tenzin Choegyal, Taro Terahara, Marcello Milani and Shen Flindell, dedicated to Tenzin's homeland of Tibet. While you are there enjoy Tibetan dumplings from the kitchen and drinks from the bar during the performance.
World Music Cafe: For Tibet With Love
Tenzin Choegyal has been enthralling Brisbane and international audiences and world music festivals with his haunting Tibetan vocals and is a regular and popular performer at BEMAC's World Music Cafe. Expect a great chill performance from this talented musician.
The World Music Cafe always tries to provide good value for money. Also performing on the night will Taro Terahara a internationally known performer of classical Inidian Music, Shen Findell, from the great Brisbane rock group the Toothfaeries and Marcello Milani. While the theme is Tibetan, expect an evening of fairly eclectic music.
A performance at the Queensland Multicultural Centre
The World Music Cafe always serves food to go along with the performance. With Tibetan music, of course they will be selling momos, or Tibetan dumplings, from Lama Beans. The bar also serves a wide range of drinks. However, if you want to grab a full meal before the performance there are plenty of other venues around, though the Story Bridge Hotel is the closest and features 4 different restaurants where you are sure to find something to your taste.
Getting to the Queensland Multicultural Centre is fairly easy. Driving is no problem and there is some off street parking at the venue as well as plenty of on street parking in the side streets around the area. You can also get there easily by public transport. There are buses that stop nearby but I prefer to jump on the free Red Ferry from the City and get off at the Holman Street Ferry Terminal.
