How would you like to enjoy a night of 'fun-tastic' company, food, drinks and entertainment while, at the same time, you'll be raising some much needed funding for a most worthwhile charity?

Once you have affirmed your support, mobilise that 'significant other' and get some friends together and come along to the at Foodbank Queensland , 179 Beverley Street, Morningside on Saturday, 14 October, 2017 from 6.30pm until 10.00pm.

Tickets to this primo event are $150 per person and are available by clicking the link here then scrolling down a bit to the 'Tickets' button and those 'Fun Party Passes' are as good as in your pocket. Get in now and don't miss out.

Your hosts for the evening are the popular Brisbane radio personality, Ian Skippen and former host of Channel 9's Farmer Wants a Wife, Natalie Gruzlewski. They know just how to keep the evening moving all the time you and your friends are eating, drinking and grooving the night away like never before!

After having such a great night last year the 'usual suspects' have returned and brought all their signature cocktail dishes with them. Enjoy treats from some of Brisbane's most iconic restaurants including, Cha Cha Char, Enoteca, Il Centro, Jellyfish and Moda Restaurant.

Thoughts of being in heaven as you eat those divine delicacies will be boosted by the titillating tipples available from the taps of the boutique Newstead Brewing Company, MOET Champagne and some of the finest wines available. And here's something you just have to try: the Hemingway styled bar by Mr & Mrs G's Riverbar – Don't worry, I've already googled it: a Hemingway Bar is one that supplies 'fine mixology and luxury spirits'. I think it means you will get some really good cocktails, but don't take my word get in and try it!

Along with being among some great company, food and drinks the Havana Tropical Party Band will be putting out the rhythms of Havana and Latin America to create a Carnival Party atmosphere that you would have to fly to Rio de Janeiro to match. So come on, remember how you used to feel when you danced to Peter Allen's words:

%%"…. I give in to the rhythm and my feet follow the beat of my heart
When my baby, when my baby smiles at me
I go to Rio, De Janeiro"
%%
Dig out those canastas and bright shirts and rumba the night away!

The truly unbelievable part of the night is that all your laughter and happiness is going to be transmitted to a lot of people who normally don't have reason to be so cheerful. Foodbank Queensland's World Food Day Cocktail Event is held to raise awareness of the enormous amount of food insecurity throughout Queensland. The face of hunger is not always who you may think it is as one in six Queenslanders experience food insecurity at some time. Although Foodbank Queensland helps feed over 180,000 people a month there are still many thousands of people going hungry.

By taking this opportunity for a night of unrivalled fun you will also be giving to the less fortunate in your community.

As the name suggests, the night commemorates World Food Day, a global initiative started in 1945 to celebrate the founding of the United Nation's 'Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO)'; an organisation dedicated to ending food insecurity and the societal factors allowing hunger to continue around the world.

In 2017, Foodbank Queensland will be celebrating World Food Day as a means of increasing the public's understanding of the help, food donations and funds needed to continue its work in relieving hunger in our community and striving for the day when nobody will go hungry. Foodbank Queensland is the State's largest hunger relief program providing food relief to over 300 charities and more than 200 school breakfast programs. The organisation helps feed 180,000 Queenslanders every month. Unfortunately, even these tremendous efforts fall a bit short, due to insufficient funding or food donations and more than 8,000 needy people are not receiving relief.

So what can you lose? Have a fantastic night of friends, food, drink, entertainment and fun and, at the same time, help the less fortunate in our community. Knowing how much you have helped by enjoying yourself might even make that Sunday morning hangover a little more bearable.

Foodbank Queensland warehouse and office are where the party is at, 179 Beverley Street, Morningside. For more information on this event or how else you could help out this mighty cause you can contact the office through this link , phone 3395 8422 or email at [email protected]

Foodbank Queensland never relents in its 'food' and 'fund' raising as it struggles to do everything possible to support the charities supporting hungry and vulnerable Queenslanders.
