World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement of women of many faith traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March. They gather to pray, reflect and share hospitality. Through World Day of Prayer, women affirm that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence in the world.



This year the featured country is the Bahamas. Bahamian sisters throughout the gathering will be acknowledged. There will be many events held all over the world. For those in the Southern Fleurieu, Willunga Uniting Church is hosting an event at Bethany Hall. Make sure you put this one in your diaries. The gathering will commence at 7pm on Friday, March 6th.



This is a completely free event to bring together those of all faiths to share in one common day of prayer. Jacqui Waters will be the guest speaker to speak along this years theme. Jacqui Waters is senior minister at Eaglemount International and also an author. She has a new novel out entitled Blood and Roses. There will be a Bahamas themed supper, which is sure to cap off an invigorating evening.
