New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
Do you like your curry mild, medium or steam-producing hot?
With such chilly weather in Canberra, this weekend's World Curry Festival in the City couldn't have come at a better time - to warm up Canberra from the inside out.
This will be the first time that this event has been held - however Canberra has proven that it loves a good Food Festival (such as the highly successful Multicultural Festival) and with already several thousand followers of their Facebook page, it looks like it will be equally as successful.
Running over both days on the weekend, there will be market stalls, street food stalls, celebrity chefs and live entertainment including Bollywood dancing. With so many popular Indian and Asian restaurants in Canberra, it will be heaven for curry-lovers to find them all in one place.
After you have sampled curries from various stalls representing different countries, why not try some special Seafood Laksa Curry ice cream from the "Frugii" ice cream stall. If you like it, why not take a short stroll to their Lonsdale street store to also sample their Black Truffle icecream to celebrate the Truffle Festival - another festival currently running in Canberra.

The World Curry Festival will be along the City Walk in the CBD. Also nearby is the outdoor ice skating rink "Skate in the City" where you and the kids can work off some of that icecream. With temperatures in Canberra so close to freezing lately, you won't need any extra clothes to go ice skating!
