Celebrate World Circus Day with a family pet show and mini pet expo in Rockingham on April 12.

Act-Belong-Commit Circus Joseph Ashton, in Rockingham from April 11 to 27, is calling on families to bring their pet to the circus for a fun competition judged by world renowned animal trainers, Zelie and Craig Bullen.


Pets can be entered in a number of categories, including smallest or largest, most colourful, cutest, unusual and best trained. There are even categories for the pet that looks most like its owner and the pet with the "waggiest" tail.

The lucky winner of the best trained pet category will get a free training session with Zelie Bullen. Prizes will also be awarded to the winners of other categories. Sadly, there is no "silly" category - if there were, I'm sure my dogs would be in with a chance!


You can't just turn up on the day with your pet, though. You need to pre-enter by April 9 by calling the Circus Hotline on 0411 302 095. The bonus is that for every pet entered, you'll get a free circus ticket (and it's free to register). How cool is that? Just remember, all pets must be on a leash or in a suitable travel crate.

[ADVERT]Ray of Sunshine dog grooming will be available to give your pooches a wash and refreshments can be purchased from the circus canteen.

Registration for the pet parade and competition is at 9.45am, and category judging runs from 10am – 12.30pm. The main circus will show at 2pm and 7.30pm on the day. Bring your friends and family to cheer on your pets, and above all, enjoy!

The circus will set up on Dixon Road, Rockingham.
