Family Fun Day is back for 2025. This year, the vibrant day for families takes place at The Dip again, and is there to foster literacy and a love of reading on the Central Coast, to grow the next generation of readers and writers with a range of events for kids and teens.

This year, the event will be hosted by Mick Elliott, author illustrator, TV Producer, and screenwriter, as well as a professional mischief maker. It’ll be a day filled with talks, live illustration demonstrations, free craft activities, story times, face-painting, book launches, a bookshop run by Umina Beach Book Nook, bubble blowers and much more!



Come along and catch fantastic authors like Louise Park, Serena Geddes, Apsara Baldovino, Melissa-Jane Fogaty, Maxine Beneba-Clarke, Lee Constable and so much more at the Dip Festival Marquee. The timetable of events is below, and there is sure to be something for everyone at this free day for families and kid lit lovers of all ages.

9am – 9.25am – Catch Melissa-Jane Fogarty talk about her book, Tuboguwle.



9.30am – 9.50am – Book Launch with Tenille Dowe for Being and Beloning.



9.55am – 10.15 am Book Launch – Spotto – Big Things NSW with Outback Jess.



10.20-10.50 – Bee-Pop! With Amelie Ecology



10.55am – 11.15am Storytime: The Lucky Shack with Aspara Baldovino



11.20am – 11.50am – Pranks, Portals and Predators with Louise Park



11.55am – 12.10pm – Illustrator Showcase with Mick Elliott



12.15pm – 12.45pm – Epic Illustrator Showdown between Mick Elliott and Serena Geddes – may the best illustrator win!



12.55pm – 1.25pm – Stinkin’ Blinkin’ Scince with Lee Constable



1.30pm – 2pm Poetry and Picture Book with Maxine Beneba Clarke



2.05pm – 2.35pm – announcement of the Ripples Schools Program short story competition winner
