The
Words at Wagstaffe event that kicks off the annual Words on the Waves Writers Festival returns in 2025. This one-day literary celebration where Words on the Waves partners with the Bouddi Society.
As in previous years, it will take place at Wagstaffe Hall under the theme of
Sliding Doors, and attendees will hear from authors who are not afraid to twist history to suit their needs or ask the question ‘What if?’
What if the moon landing had failed?
What if we knew what happened to Miles Franklin when she disappeared?
What if gangsters ruled the Soviet Union in 1938?
And so many more - the possibilities of the what ifs in the world, the what if things happened differently in history are endless – and can take shape in any genre or storytelling format, and there will be several fabulous creators attending.
Join Debra Oswald creator of
Offspring as she talks about her novel
100 Years of Betty with Joy Lawn.
Malcolm Knox will also be there to discuss his novel,
Even Bad People Have Good Friends, or Kerrie Davies, a media academic who will be discussing
Going Undercover with Miles Franklin in conversation with Sue Williams, and finally, come talk about
This Kingdom of Dust with David Dyer and Benny Agius.
You can grab a day pass for $89 at the link at the top of this article that will get you entry to all four talks plus book signings hosted by Umina Beach Book Nook, the Words on the Waves festival bookseller.
