Woollahra's Beaches and Harbour Pools Reopen

If all the funny Instagram videos of people pretending to swim strung across chairs, couches and even kitchen benches are correct, then people have really missed their regular swimming.

Several popular Sydney harbour beaches and pools have just opened up.

The local Woollahra Council said popular beaches and harbour pools are reopening but only for 'swim & go' and exercise. That means you can have your swim, walk or run but you can't do things like sunbake, or hang around with others after your swim.

Best to go straight to the source for what you can and can't do. Here's the Woollahra Council Statement:

%%Commencing Wednesday 6 May, a quick swim, walk, or run will be possible at the following locations:

Beaches: Camp Cove, Double Bay Beach, Gibsons Beach, Kutti Beach, Lady Martin's Beach, Parsley Bay Beach/Reserve, Seven Shillings Beach, Watsons Bay Beach, Rose Bay Beach (Rose Bay Park/Bellamy Beach). Dog walking is also permitted on Rose Bay Foreshore (Tingira Memorial Park to Dumaresq Reserve).

Harbourside pools: Murray Rose Pool (Redleaf) and Watsons Bay Baths.

Access to the water and sand is permitted for the sole purpose of exercise. Sunbathing or resting on the beach before or after swimming is not allowed.

These measures will be regularly reviewed and beaches may be closed again if appropriate social distancing requirements are not adhered to or large gatherings occur – the health and safety of the community is our primary focus.
