It seems that an event can be made out of anything these days, even curry. So here we have it, a curryfest that has a history of six previous annual events. Now heading into it's 7th year in 2012, it will bring together all the ingredients of a good curry and attract a culturally diverse crowd for one big spicy time.
And who doesn't like to eat a good curry or even learn the secrets of making one.
The Curryfest held at Woolgoolga Beach Reserve, which adjoins Woolgoolga main beach, is around 3.5 to 4 hours drive from either Brisbane or Sydney and is a community event that has attracted around 11,000 people last year, from surrounding regions including Coffs Habour (25kms away), Grafton, Norther Rivers, Gold Coast and Brisbane. Expectations for 2012 is in excess of last year's numbers.
Main event day is Saturday 28th of April 9am to 9pm, however see below "What you can do there" for what is on offer for Friday 27th of April and Sunday 29th or April. Admission on Saturday is just $5 for adults and high school students. Under these ages are free.
As with any well run event there will be exhibitors, performers, dance, music and demonstrations. This all equates to good food, music, entertainment, colour, cultural influences and a great time. Some of the performers for 2012 are shown below;
