Stardust Memories 1980

What a better way to sing off summer than arranging a Sunday afternoon date with one of the greatest movie-makers Woody Allen? A date that can go on and on, repeat for many Sundays to come and to bring you different movies, various impressions and emotions, joy and tears, laughter and even anguish.

Classic Cinemas and LIDO Cinemas are starting a Woody Allen Retrospective this coming February. 'From February through to October this year, we are bringing back to the big screen 36 films from the oeuvre of one of Hollywood's most prolific directors, Woody Allen'.

Woody Allen is the most prolific of them all, if you ask me. I have seen very few of his movies. However, only the other day I printed out the list of them all from the internet and promised myself to watch some more. I was amazed when I saw the list. There are so many of them. There are movies directed by him and there are ones where he played a part as well.

If you are looking for something dreamy, lovely, beautiful on the eye and ear, join in at Classic Cinemas or LIDO Cinemas for a slow Sunday afternoon or two, or even ten. You can have lunch in one of many cafes and restaurants in Elsternwick. You can stay back and have a drink at After the Tears or if you are game enough, Hungarian cuisine at Budapest Restaurant.

$12 for the movie, any movie, any Sunday is not much but so much at the same time. Come with a friend, with a loved one (Woody Allen's movies will put you in the right mood) or come by yourself and give in to dreams and imagination shared on screen and encouraged off screen too.
