Beach, fishing & barbecues
With summer dragging on there are many ways to combat the heat, spend time with the family and try new things, one of my personal favourites being a Sunday afternoon at Woodman Point, just south of the famed Coogee beach.
With it's iconic jetty, pristine beaches, barbecue areas and playground Woodman Point is the perfect location for a family outing, party or any celebration.
The water is shallow for the beginner swimmers and also just deep enough to be excellent for snorkelers. Sometimes when you're there in the mornings, you can see groups of divers skimming the water for training and ecological preservation.
Bring your fishing rods, because speaking from personal experience, there are always plenty of bites. This is the perfect place for your kids to have the chance to catch some fish! If you're really lucky you might catch one big enough to cook on the provided barbecues and watch the sunset over our beautiful Indian Ocean.
The playground is the best place to drop off the kids on the way to the gazebos and barbies and promises to keep them out of your hair until the food is ready.
There is nothing better than a relaxing day at the beach and when you put the option of fishing and playing into the equation, it becomes the ultimate combination that you, your kids, you grandparents and even your dog can have some fun in the sun!
An ideal place to spend your Australia Day or any day at all this summer, Woodman Point offers you the premium family experience with beaches, parks and recreation that will make the rest of the week pale in comparison.
