Whips cracking, bulls bucking and cowboys are hot
On Saturday 30 January 2016 from 5pm until midnight, Woodford hosts its Woodford Summer Rodeo. Who doesn't want to spend the night watching a bunch of cowboys and cowgirls fighting it out for the championship?
Get your country on and come on out for a great evening of entertainment.
There will be 8 World Champions riding at the rodeo so you don't want to miss it. It's going to be hotter than hot. 96 competitors over 5 events will make for a great night.
Of course, the usual country fare will be there such as hot food, cold drinks, a jumping castle, as well as a bar, music and a great after party.
The Woodford Summer Rodeo Facebook page is advertising free camping on Saturday night. For those interested contact the organisers via their Facebook page. Children under 14 gain free entry on the night so this is one of those rare opportunities for inexpensive family time.
These types of events are regularly on throughout the countryside and it's always one of those events where people say, I wish I'd known I would have gone. If Brisbane does not continue to support these great nights and attend them, eventually they'll die out due to lack of money. The Woodford Summer Rodeo looks set to be a fantastic night out full of great country fun. The weather is hot, the cowboys and cowgirls are even hotter, get on down and have a cracking good evening.
Held at the Woodford Showgrounds, 38 Neurum Road, Woodford, the Rodeo events will start at 5pm and finish at midnight. Adult entry is $15, aged pensioners and students $10 and children under 14 are free. For updates if it rains, please see their Facebook page.
Thanks for promoting our Woodford Show Society's Summer Rodeo Denise. The page you got the info from is not the official Facebook page although the photos are ours. This is the correct pagehttps://www.facebook.com/WoodfordShow/?ref=hl Also there are 8 World Champions and the music isn't live it's Let er Buck Pro Services. There is on ride for the kids, it's a jumping castle where the kids can jump all night for $2. Just didn't want people to turn up and expect something that wasn't there. And oh yeah, our cowboys are hot :-)
Denise, you state you have a major in Australian History. Do a bit of research then about rodeos. They're banned in Britain, the ACT, and various places in the USA for animal welfare reasons. They're opposed by the RSPCA and Animal Liberation Qld for good reason. They exploit animals.
