Woodbridge Riverside Play Space
Playground Map

Since moving to Perth last year, my two young daughters and I have thoroughly enjoyed trying out the ridiculously wonderful array of playgrounds on offer. Since stumbling upon the proceedings of Perth's latest, we have been eagerly anticipating the opening of the Woodbridge Riverside Play Space.

I am excited to announce that it is completely worth the wait. Woodbridge Riverside Play Space is now open for fun. We arrived for the opening and joined an ever flowing rate of families around the grounds.

A number of head counts concluded that at any one time, there seemed to be approximately 70 people. With, now wait for it plenty of room to spare. You see Woodbridge Riverside Play Space, and do not take this for fact, but I am pretty sure that it is around the same size of a Country Aussie Rules Football Oval. I am not kidding.

There is an oversized picnic lawn, under shade eating areas, on-site toilet, orchard, drinking fountain, heaps of parking, and I have not even started on the real stuff yet.

Kids of all ages will enjoy swings, the cable way, carousel, rocker, water and sand play.

I am always on the lookout for wheelchair access as I have a cousin who has been confined to one his whole childhood. I am pleased to exclaim that majority of the activities on offer cater for chairs. Chair bound children can wheel to their heart's content around the paths, strap them into the cable way chair, and whizz them around the carousel. Sand play tables are chair height and the pirate ship welcomes the hearty-wheelers.

The playground enjoys the peaceful surrounding of the nearby Swan River. If you wish to get your bikes and scooters out the car, (as none are allowed in the grounds) then follow the John George Walking Trail and take in the exquisite scenery.
But wait there's more. There are plans of an excessively large expansion to the playground in the future. That'll keep them coming back!

No bikes, smoking, dogs, littering, bad behaviour.
*Ages 16 and older are welcomed, best behaviour, assistance dogs welcomed (please toilet prior to entering), rubbish in bin
