Wilderness, serenity and seclusion are what awaits for you at Wongari.

Set in the aptly named Lost World it is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast and Brisbane, and just around 2 hours drive through the Gold Coast Hinterland to this oasis in the Scenic Rim.

Serenity will envelop you in the forested surrounds as you settle into your cabins beside the bubbling Christmas Creek. Relax and recover with a book or two and savour your natural surrounds.

In the cooler months, stoke up a warming fire or even an outdoor fire and BBQ.

If you wish to connect with nature make a day to explore the creeks, waterfalls, wildlife and forests of Lamington National Park. Follow the Creek to Stinson Park and learn more of its famous history. Read more.

In summer take a dip in one of the many waterholes along Christmas Creek. There are two creeks on the property and they meet at the site of the guest cabin, Serenity. The nearby Bimbul cabin, meaning Hoop Pine, is an invisible 150m past yet another creek crossing.

offers private, secluded and comfortable wilderness cabin accommodation in the Lost World set in the foothills of the World Heritage Rainforests of the Boarder Ranges and Lamington National Park.

Take the road to Beaudesert and head south to Wonagri along Christmas Creek Road with the last six kilometres winding dirt, but all weather, and accessible to most vehicles.

Christmas Creek is the common thread in the valley of about fourteen properties with Waterfall Creek originating behind Wongari and starts dramatically from the Lamington Plateau in the form of Lamington Falls. The Creek has an amazing 300m drop over three stages and passes exclusively thru Wongari. A perfect spot for a cool dip.

Serenity and Bimbul cabins are set within ten forested acres and boast a private creek frontage under a vast canopy of trees. It adds up to an ideal way to the whole serenity feel ... and a connection with nature.

Take time, soak in the natural surrounds and revitalise at Wongari.

Make time each June to enjoy the Lost World Farm Festival.

The eco resort is pet-friendly and both cabins are totally self-contained for total relaxation with BBQ, microwave, electric cooktop, wood fired oven incorporated into a fireplace, kitchen utensils, tea and coffee. Just pack your own food and beverages.
