The Wonga Park Farmers Market is a new monthly market on the 4th Saturday of each month. Entry is by gold coin donation and it's hosted at the Wonga Park Primary School, Dudley Rd, Wonga Park. Market date for May 2017 is on Saturday the 27th from 9am to 1pm. Being in a covered area, this is an all weather event. Please leave your pooches at home as the market square is part of the school grounds. BYO shopping bags where possible for sustainable shopping. Jute market shopping bags will be available for purchase in the near future.
Established by Wonga Park Primary, it aims to bring carefully selected growers and specialty makers of local produce to the village of Wonga Park. You'll find fruit and vegetables, sourdough bread, honey, free range eggs, meats, cheeses, locally roasted coffee, wine, beer and cider locally produced 500m up the road, baked goods, jams, preserves, take home meals, pasta, chocolate, homemade cordial, gozleme, gourmet BBQ using ingredients sourced from the stallholders and more. You name it, they're bound to have it. Sounds so wholesome doesn't it?
The market is also an opportunity for the gathering of locals to come together as a community and to enjoy everything on offer. Meet up with friends, families and neighbours and meet new people from neighbouring towns and suburbs while you support your local producers.
The children can enter the monthly competition; this month being the Lego comp open to all primary aged children. Each month you can email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on the monthly comps. Creations should be taken to the SAKG kitchen if you're delivering on Friday. Winners are announced at 12pm on market day. There's also lots of entertainment for the kids in the form of face painting, market games, jumping castle and more.
Check out the event page for the stallholders who are attending, and all the yummy food that's going to be there to chow down on. Your gold coin donation at the gate supports school projects, so thank you for your donation.
