Wonder Bowl is a Chinese restaurant located at 235 William Street in Northbridge. Wonder Bowl (pronounced Wan Di Xian in Chinese) specialises in noodle soup paired with Chinese rice wine. Signature Seafood Combination in Superior Soup

We visited Wonder Bowl at 2.30pm on Thursday, 22 August 2019. The restaurant was just emptying out from the lunchtime rush so we were able to grab a table and a couple of menus very quickly. We were met by an enthusiastic staff member who went through the menu with us and explained the history of Wonder Bowl and recommended some dishes to us.

I tried the Lime and Lemon Fresh drink. It was very refreshing and pleasant.

We selected the Drunken Chicken in Superior Soup, the Signature Seafood Combination in Superior Soup, a plate of Deep Fried Chicken Spare Ribs and two Lemon Lime Fresh drinks. Our food came out to our table really quickly. We got our drinks first. They came in large, ice-cold glasses. The drink had a cool, refreshing lemon taste, mixed with mint and lime. I really enjoyed it. It was a pleasant drink to have on a sunny, warm afternoon.

The Drunken Chicken Noodles came in a sweet broth that tasted of ginger with a hint of chilli and had some of the nicest noodles that I've ever tasted.

My husband had the Drunken Chicken in Superior Soup. It came with chicken and mushrooms and silky vermicelli rice noodles sitting in a sweet clear broth that tasted of ginger and chilli. My husband was kind enough to let me have a few bites. The chicken was perfectly cooked and fell off the bone, the noodles were soft and very well made and the broth was delicious.

If you love spicy soups then you will love the Combination Prawn and Fish Fillet in Spicy Superior Soup

I chose the Signature Seafood Combination in Superior Soup for my meal. My soup came with prawns, fish, mushrooms and noodles floating in a spicy, seafood broth. If you love spicy food you will love this dish. The broth was bursting with flavour and was very, very hot. I was warned in advance this dish was going to be hot but I accepted the challenge. It was a little bit hotter than I thought it would be but after a few bites, I got used to the heat. I really liked the noodles in my soup. They complimented the broth well and balanced the heat of the dish with a cool taste. This was a messy dish to eat but it had a lot of flavors and a really good seafood taste. After I got used to the heat of the broth, I ended up really liking it. Our soups came in VERY generous sizes. Every table comes with a bottle of Chinese rice wine so if you want to add more to your dish to enhance the flavour of your soup you can if you want.

The Deep Fried Chicken Ribs had a nice crunch to them and came with two different dipping sauces. They were a fun extra to add to our meal.

The Deep Fried Chicken Ribs were a great side to add to our meal. The ribs were very crunchy, had a nice taste, and weren't too spicy and came with two dipping sauces. I can see why they're so popular.
