Event:

On Wednesday, 10th August, 2016, Artlivemedia, Startup Victoria and Female Founders are hosting an enlightening conference, entitled 'Women Leading Businesses to Success' at RACV City Club from 6pm.

Currently fewer than 5% of high growth startups are owned by women a sobering statistic, particularly when compared to the fact that 50% of Australian small business are founded by women.

Despite this, the case for female leadership within high growth business models is compelling. Research shows that female operated, venture-backed companies have 12% higher revenues and companies with more equalised executive management gender distribution get 30% better results from IPOs.

'Women Leading Businesses to Success' is an upcoming conference, featuring three female CEO panelists who will share inspirational stories and lessons in business. Together they wil touch on different stages of growth and a range of business models and target customers - B2B, B2C, Retail, Software as a Service and Professional Services.

Participating in the event are:

  • Michelle Bourke: Founder and CEO at Artlivemedia: Michelle will discuss learnings from leading a professional services company with 306% YoY growth growing from 1 to 12 team members across Australia and the US in just 12 months, and the journey to their most recent win of the 2016 Telstra Business Award for New Business (Victoria).

  • Charlotte Petris: Founder and CEO of Timelio: Charlotte will contribute insights from leading the venture backed FinTech startup, Timelio gearing up to grow 1000% over the next 3 years.

  • Sarah Hamilton: Founder and CEO of Bellabox: Sarah will share her experience of growing an online retail company which is now worth over $12 million with 40,000 subscribers.

The panelists will be moderated by PwC's Innovation Manager, Marina Paronetto and the event will conclude with a Q&A session.

This special event is open to all and is a great opportunity to network and meet the newly appointed female CEO of Startup Victoria, Georgia Beattie. Come and hear personal stories, share experiences and discover unique learnings with other like-minded business women.
