Weekends are about freedom, exploring and fun... and that's worth writing about.
Event: -
Keeping your teen keen
For the second year, Australia has taken part in the global recognition of Women's Entrepreneurship Day (WED), a day which brings together the world's largest celebration of successful women entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, innovators and job creators.

Sonya Karras and Sacha Kaluri are amazing youth focused professional speakers and the founders of the Australian Teenage Expo, both being selected as the Australian ambassadors for WED.

For WED, 600 teenage girls from across Victoria were invited to gather at Melbourne Girls Grammar to listen to a panel of inspirational female entrepreneurs share stories of their entrepreneurship journeys.

The event was attended by a diverse group of successful Australian women including Michelle Palmer (Managing Director and Founder of ID Collective Communications Group and ARIA award winning singer), Samantha Hunter (CEO of Crimestoppers), Jenny Sadler (Most successful Australian female McDonalds Franchisee), Elpis Korosidis (owner and founder of Korosidis Lawyers) and Sara Price (Aged 13 - App Developer and the Australian Ambassador for the EduTech Conference 2016).

As well as a talk on how to "Unlock your Inner Entrepreneur", there was a panel style presentation involving all the invited businesswomen where the teenage girls had an opportunity to ask questions and interact with the panelists.

The event has been filmed and will be shown at the United Nations where the US event is being held.

WED is a worldwide movement with the defining goal to empower women and their businesses. WED global ambassadors are operating on every continent and in over 140 countries, inspiring young women to pursue their passions and to support each other.

At the United Nations event, Wendy Diamond was joined by innovators and industry leaders such as Leona Lewis (Grammy Nominated Singer/Songwriter), Andrea Jung (Board of Directors – Apple, GE and Daimler AG), Raja Rajamannar (Chief Marketing Officer, Mastercard), Alysia Reiner – Award Winning Actress, "Orange is the New Black") and Dr Jen Walter (first female coach in the NFL).

Both Sonya and Sacha are extremely proud to have been chosen to host the Australian WED event.
