Wombats SA are hosting a movie night fundraiser on Saturday 2 July 2022 from 5.30pm to 9.50pm ACST at Capri Theatre, 141 Goodwood Rd, Goodwood. Wombats SA / Natural History Society of SA preserve and protect an estimated 2000 plus wombats and other native flora and fauna on their reserves. Proceeds from this fundraiser will allow the expansion of their reserves so they can conserve more of the Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat's environment, continue important research and ongoing conservation work. Get your tickets here to help this worthy cause.
There will be other activities on the night you can participate in, to help with their work.
5.30-6.45pm - check out the wombat displays and promotional items while you mingle. 50's-60's Rock N Roll band The Shakers will provide the entertainment
If you cannot attend the screening but would like to help anyway, the ticketing page gives you the option to donate. Please also consider purchasing enhanced tickets via the ticketing page for candy bar items and/or the alcohol package, as buying at the candy bar on the night does not benefit Wombats SA. Your help is much appreciated.
Visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann's Elvis stars Austin Butler as Elvis Presley, Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker and Australian Olivia DeJong as Priscilla Presley. There's a swath of well known Australian actors amongst the main cast like Richard Roxburgh, Helen Thomson, David Wenham, Luke Bracey and Dacre Montgomery, and more Australian actors like Leon Ford, Kate Mulvany, Gareth Davies, Charles Grounds, Josh McConville, and Adam Dunn join the ensemble cast. Filmed in Australia, it was a time when Tom Hanks famously caught Covid which halted production for a while.
This biopic delves into the complex dynamics between Presley and Col Tom Parker over 20 years and will be based on the life and music of Elvis Presley. Signature Luhrmann, this is an epic big-screen spectacle, a cinematic drama that garnered a full 12-minute standing ovation at Cannes.
Elvis Aaron Presley was born on 8 January 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi and passed away on 16 August 1977 at the age of just 42 in Memphis, Tennessee.
