I found where Pooh Bear lives in Australia at Wombat Honey

I have been on a road trip to Brisbane and back. I went up to meet with my Greek cousin Zoe Zeniodi and see her conduct Opera Queensland. It was a huge success with standing ovations on opening night.

We also had a lovely meet and greet at the local Greek Club with others from the Greek community. Marina, who was lovely to meet and surprisingly another Weekend Notes writer, highlights it here.

There is a standing joke in my family - my husband likes to travel from one city to another at the speed of light. He does let me take a pee at petrol stops. However, I like to zig-zag and stop to enjoy the actual places I find, explore and take photos. Must be the photojournalist in me.

Next, I adore local Australian honey - nothing else will do! I feel it is one of the most healing things we can ever eat. So when I drove by this little honey shack, the car just automatically flipped a u-turn. I had not control over it. Really.

And what a treat I found. This tiny little honey haven. Honey, honey and more honey. No wonder Pooh Bear was hanging around. I think he has moved in permanently.

It was so beautifully laid out with honey in many different container sizes and styles, beeswax products and candles, and homemade jams. I have never run across creamed honey with other flavours such as blackberry. I would have loved to have tried some.

It was not hard for me to decide. I did quick calculations of what honey styled or similar trademarked named products (versus real honey) cost in the stores and bought the largest container they had. I would have bought more but I was out of cash.

They have video surveillance keeping you honest, but I think they should upgrade to "tap and go" like car washes. I would have bought jam and honey for friends to take back as gifts. And tried some of that creamed honey. Unfortunately, I am not going back on that track. I have more to explore. I would have probably ended up buying $100 or more of the product. This was such a rare and enticing place.

And of course, you can order for delivery. But it was so much fun discovering it along my journey.
