Wombat Bend is a wonderful free outdoor playspace for the whole family situated in Yarra in Lower Templestowe.

Set in beautifully landscaped gardens, the local community and kids had a lot of involvement in designing the park and this can be seen in the colourful painted murals and mosaic artwork. The native animal motifs of snake and wombat are dotted around the space and kids can have hours of fun searching for all the wombat images and the wombat wood sculptures provide a place for children to climb hidden amongst the vegetation.

The features of the Playspace include a maze, human sundial, amphitheatre, elevated sandpit, play equipment, lawn spaces, sounds and sensory walk and forest walk.

This is a unique playspace that encourages harmonious creative and nature play and children, parents, carers and grandparents are all encouraged to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
