Update January 19th 2019
This event appears to have been rescheduled for February 23 2019

Bring your dog so he can go shopping also
Being a dog lover since I was a young child, I love to bring dogs to events and functions I attend, as our dogs are always part of the family!

Don't leave your dogs at home whenever you go out. - dogs can get fat and lazy with no outings, just like us humans.

Now there is going to be a market for the dogs! This will be an awesome day at Dogs Queensland. There will be food trucks (well, you will have to attend to see if I mean food for dogs or humans!) but definitely, for the humans and the dogs, there will be market stalls, dogs on show and jumping castle to keep the children, other than the furry ones, amused.

There will also be some interesting competitions and games for both you the humans as well as those of our furry friends, who are really just humans without speech!

At this event, you may even be able to get a good cup of coffee if you are lucky - look out for those coffee vans.

This market will be on 26th January 2019, from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm. It will be held at Dogs Queensland, 247 King Ave, Durack.

The reason for putting on the Brisbane Wolfenooot Festival is a charitable event. 100% or the raised profit goes directly to the recipient. In 2018 the event was organised to help a very special lady affectionately called TJ.

TJ has some serious medical issues and requires an assistance dog. The dog was named Opal and he was a rescue dog trained as an assistance dog. Although Opal could help keep TJ stay alive, there was not enough money until her friends raised some of the money for the dog.

TJ is a person who never complains or whinges and has a very positive attitude despite her illness. She was very deserving of this dog and all her friends knew this. TJ is in her early 30's and has a daughter, Kim. TJ suffers from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) which affects her organs and nerves, with the main emphasis on her heart. She needs an assistance dog to monitor her heart rate and get her sitting down when she needs to. She also needs the dog to support her if she should begin to fall. When her heart rate rises, she often faints and this, unfortunately, happens quite often.

She has, unfortunately, had many accidents which further exasperates her illness, and on a good day, TJ gets around with a walking stick, a bad day.... she needs a wheelchair. She has NDSS approval, however, an assistance dog is not covered with this.

TJ is also a dog person and very skilled in the handling and training of dogs. Opal will not only keep her safe, but he will also protect her and be her constant companion giving her confidence.

Please help to get Opal to TJ as soon as possible - you will be able to donate at the event, or you donate and help at this link.
