The Wizard of Oz is a revision of the timeless fantasy adventure tale you know and love.
Meet Dorothy as she finds herself in the magical land of Oz after a tornado rips through her home town of Kansas. Dorothy and her beloved dog Toto must find their way to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, meeting the much loved Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion along the way. On route, the newly acquainted friends must avoid the Wicked Witch of the West and her evil winged monkeys.

The Wizard of Oz is a relatively new stage show, which first premiered at The London Palladium Theatre in March 2011. After a successful West End season,
The Wizard of Oz musical flew off to Toronto in December 2012 and then embarked on a US tour from September 2013.
The
Wizard of Oz Musical has now sets its sights on Australia, opening at Brisbane's Lyric Theatre, QPAC on 4 November, followed by Sydney performing at the Capitol Theatre in December, Adelaide's Festival Theatre in April and finally reaching Melbourne's beautiful Regent Theatre opening on 15 May 2018, running for a strictly limited season.
The cast of the Australian production of
The Wizard of Oz has been announced. Anthony Warlow will star as The Wizard and Professor Marvel, Lucy Durack as Glinda the Good Witch and Jemma Rix as The Wicked Witch of the West.
Both Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix return to the stage after the wonderful rendition of
Wicked The Musical: The Untold Story that also performed at Melbourne's Regent Theatre in 2014.
Rising star Samantha Dodemaide will play the coveted role of Dorothy, her first leading role in a major musical.
The Scarecrow will be played by Eli Cooper, Alex Rathgeber will take on the part of the Tin Man, and John Xintavelonis will play the Lion.
Demand has been high for the Australian tour of the
Wizard of Oz, with tickets already selling well for the Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide shows. Now it is your turn Melbourne theatre goers.
