Meet Dorothy as she finds herself in the magical land of Oz after a tornado rips through her home town of Kansas. Dorothy and her beloved dog Toto must find their way to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, meeting the much loved Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion along the way. On route, the newly acquainted friends must avoid the Wicked Witch of the West and her evil winged monkeys.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of The Wizard of Oz is a relatively new stage show, which first premiered at The London Palladium Theatre in March 2011. After a successful West End season, The Wizard of Oz musical flew off to Toronto in December 2012 and then embarked on a US tour from September 2013.

The Wizard of Oz Musical has now sets its sights on Australia, opening at Brisbane's Lyric Theatre, QPAC on 4 November, followed by Sydney performing at the Capitol Theatre in December, Adelaide's Festival Theatre in April and finally reaching Melbourne's beautiful Regent Theatre opening on 15 May 2018, running for a strictly limited season.

The cast of the Australian production of The Wizard of Oz has been announced. Anthony Warlow will star as The Wizard and Professor Marvel, Lucy Durack as Glinda the Good Witch and Jemma Rix as The Wicked Witch of the West.

Both Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix return to the stage after the wonderful rendition of Wicked The Musical: The Untold Story that also performed at Melbourne's Regent Theatre in 2014.

Rising star Samantha Dodemaide will play the coveted role of Dorothy, her first leading role in a major musical.
