This re-vamped production of The Wizard of Oz had its world premiere at The London Palladium Theatre in March 2011. This West End run was followed up by the production's North American premiere in Toronto in December 2012 and from September 2013 it embarked on a tour of the US.
Producers John Frost and Suzanne Jones have created a perfect opportunity for you to come and see Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix reunite and reprise the roles you loved when they both starred in Wicked. To make this event even more special Lucy and Emma will be joined by Anthony Warlow who plays The Wizard and Professor Marvel.
Anthony Warlow has been thrilling audiences since his 1981 debut with the Australian Opera. Since then his credits have included: The Musical (2011), the Australian tours of Annie (2000 and 2012), the title role in The Phantom of the Opera (1990 and 2007-2008), the Australian production of Les Miserables (1988), Fiddler On The Roof. Internationally, his musical theatre roles have included Guys and Dolls at the National Theatre, London and Annie, which was his Broadway debut in the United States.
Lucy Durack is one of Australia's most exciting leading ladies of stage and screen with a list of major roles to her credit. As we know she played Glinda in the original Australian cast of Wicked. She also starred in productions that include: Legally Blonde The Musical (when she won the Sydney Theatre and Helpmann Awards as Best Actress in a Musical). Lucy also has numerous TV credits including: Doctor Doctor, Upper Middle Bogan, The Letdown, Here Come The Habibs and The Moodys.
Jemma Rix, as part of the original Australian cast of Wicked, performed the leading role of Elphaba. She starred in the Australian tour of, Ghost The Musical and, most recently, debuted at the Sydney Opera House debut appearing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in its concert, Witches.
