Event:
The musical extravaganza is back
blackwood, wittunga, entertainment, concert, bontanical gardens, lions club, let it be beatles, jukebox, family fun
Grab your chair and picnic and sit back to a medley of music on Friday, February 20th.

This year the renowned 'Wittunga Under the Stars' concert is set to delight everyone once again. Held in Wittunga, Blackwood's stunning botanical gardens on Shepherd's Hill Road, the audience can look forward to sounds from Jukebox Live, a live musical tribute to the greats of the 50s, 60s and 70s as well as hits from the most popular artists, and the iconic Beatles tribute band, 'Let it Be Beatles'.

There are food and drink stalls, and a limited BYO liquor license, so people can enjoy their favourite tipple. Plus the kids will enjoy the face painting.

All this for just $10 per adult and $5 per child or $25 for a family ticket of 2 adults and 2 children. Tickets are available from the Liberals Davenport office at 7 Young Street, Blackwood or Blackwood Pharmacy at 248 Main Road (in the Foodland shopping centre). They can also be purchased on the gate on the night, but as over 1000 people enjoyed the extravaganza last year, best to book in advance.

The event is organised by the Lions Club of Blackwood which has been presenting this event in one form or other over the past 10 years as a way of 'thanking and giving back to the people of Blackwood and surrounding suburbs who have supported us'.

"The Blackwood Lions, through our fund raising activities and the proceeds from the Lions Bargain Centre on Shepherds Hill Road combined with the generosity of Hills residents, enables us to give back to local communities." Event spokesman Graham Smithers said.

"It is the proceeds from this Centre that funds the work we do to improve the quality of communities and to assist others who are not so fortunate - an example of this is the devastation caused by the recent bushfires at Sampson's Flat north of Adelaide," explained Graham.

Gates open at 5.30pm.
