I love the things we have here in South Australia – the fabulous food, wine, people and places – beauty everywhere. And, for more beauty in my life, I own and operate a gorgeous little gallery called Mrs Harris’ Shop: www.mrsharrisshop.com.au
Come on, there's room for one more piece of art
The list of exhibitors/contributors reads like a who's who of Adelaide art.
Over a hundred artists have created and donated works to a special exhibition now showing at the Adelaide Central Gallery at Adelaide Central School of Art. The exhibition is a fundraiser for the school, named as South Australia's leading art school in the 2016 QILT national student survey. All proceeds support the students and programs of the school, an independent not-for-profit organisation. This is the sixth time such an exhibition has been held.
Each postcard-sized piece is signed by the artist on the back. So, until you have purchased, no-one knows who the artist is! It might be a well-established artist, working here or internationally, or it might be an emerging artist, just establishing a career.
To see the exhibition and add to your art collection, visit Adelaide Central Gallery in the Glenside Cultural Precinct, Mulberry Road, Glenside (next door to SA Film Corp). Enter from Fullarton Road. The gallery is open 9am – 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesdays, it's open until 7pm; on Saturdays, 1pm - 4pm.
As an alternative, visit the ACSA website to view the works or to peruse the enormous list of artists. A word of warning though, the site might not have been updated at the time of viewing and the piece you like might already have been sold.
