The 2020 favourite pop up event, created for Coogee Live is back again for another year. The Wish Upon a Paper Crane installation is a must-see. Thanks to the City of Cockburn, you have another chance to see it and maybe make a wish.

The original paper crane wish story originates in Japan. Stories claim that if someone makes one thousand paper cranes, then they will be granted a wish by the Gods. Other stories claim that a thousand cranes will grant eternal happiness or good luck.

This installation has 1,500 cranes on display. Each is handmade by someone in the community. And every single one of these cranes has been made with a wish in mind. If you see them, it is hoped that these wishes will be whispered in the wind and the wishes will come true for everyone.

Head to the Cockburn Health and Community Facility in Success from 11 April through to 31 May. These are on display from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 8pm. They are also able to be visited on Saturday between 9am-5pm. Closed on Sunday. This is a free event, and I hope that you deepest wishes come true.
