Step back in time as you wander into the doorway and enjoy the old world charm of this fascinating building. From the proud "Mowbray Town" sign overhead to the friendly service, this is a coffee bar just like they used to make them - where the barista remembers your name, coffee order and exactly what's going on in your life.
This quirky coffee shop oozes history, being located in the old atmospheric Mowbray Town church hall adjacent to the old Presbyterian church. Today the owner inhabits the building, which is also used as a photographic studio. Smooth, fresh Merlo coffee and chunky home made muffins and cakes are the order of the day and for regulars you can even have some fun stamping your own loyalty card.
If you like to chatter and drink your fresh espresso standing up in true Italiano style, you can hover inside at the bar, talk to the friendly barista and flick through the papers. For the more time-casual coffee lover you can sit outside in the sunshine and watch the world go by.
Early morning week days see a fast-paced stream of business types through the door, whilst on weekends the coffee bar takes on a more relaxed vibe where you can soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the unique surroundings steeped in history.
Wired Espresso Bar is located at 26 Mowbray Terrace. Opening times: Mon-Fri: 6.30-11.30am. Sat: 7am - 12pm.
