After a sell-out inaugural season, Winterland returns to the Perth Cultural Centre bigger and better this July.The popular inner city ice skating rink will reopen Thursday 2nd to Sunday 19th July 2015, perfectly timed for the Winter school holidays.This year, organisers expect over 35,000 visitors to get their skates and enjoy this magical winter wonderland in the heart of Perth City. This popular family attraction is WA's original and only owned and operated outdoor iceskating rink. Organisers aim to support the local industry, whilst entertaining the locals and cater for kids, parents, grandparents and everyone in between.
This year, visitors can expect a much bigger rink - over 50% bigger than 2014 - and a free Kids Snow Zone, with a snow machine and play area for the little ones.All the favourite features from last year are back too - including: Themed nights, including Date Night for Lovers, Sk90's and Cheapskate Tuesdays along with some new additions The Lodge, the bespoke café and bar, offers new food and beverage optionsOpen fire pits at The Lodge, to keep you toasty and warm your soulFree babyccinos for skaters under 5 years oldThe return of professional ice skating demonstrations by the WA Ice Skating AssociationKids carnival ridesFree winter themed films on the big screen, including Frozen, Ice Age and more!
There will also be a range of family friendly sessions and activities on a daily basis. The 8am and 9am sessions will be just for the little ones, with aided skating tools for toddlers. From 10am onwards, the sessions are all ages. After the sun goes down, it's time for big kids at heart to come out and play, with themed nights, DJs and more from 7pm till late.Visitors can also indulge in tasty treats such as hot pretzels, hearty winter food and ginger cookies, freshly prepared at the food stalls. The Lodge will also be serving a huge range of tasty treats such as bratwurst, pulled pork burgers and other hearty winter warmers.Patrons and the general public can observe all the skating action from The Lodge. From 7PM on Friday and Saturday, The Lodge will be pumping out the tunes, with a range of Perth's finest DJ's taking over the decks
