The weather is cold, the rain has already started and I don't know about you, but lately at night if I go outside I feel as though I might never be able to feel my fingers again. Okay, so maybe I'm exaggerating but winter is definitely upon us.
So why not embrace it? Winter Wonderland Glenelg is back!
After the success of last year's event (here's a great article about it), the ice rink is returning and according the City of Holdfast Bay it's bigger and better than ever!
Glide (or slide?) around the marquee with views of the ocean.
Tickets are $12.50 per adult, $7.50 per child or $30 per family (two adults and two children or one adult and three children) making it an affordable day or evening out exercising, enjoying yourselves and doing something a little different.
Tickets are available for purchase from the website below.
With plenty of great restaurants and coffee shops along Jetty Road, why not make an outing of it and go for dinner or hot chocolate after you've built up an appetite?
Catch the tram, wear your winter woolies (and perhaps bring a change of clothes in case you're not quite as graceful on the ice as you think you are) and enjoy.
Looking for inspiration? Your child wanting to become the next star of Disney On Ice? Figure skating demonstrations and ice displays will be running every weekend.
If you're looking for a more 'grown up' night out, the ice rink opens for anyone 18 years or older from 8pm on Friday and Saturday nights and is fully licensed. Entertainment will be provided by DJs from Fresh FM.
Now, everyone sing with me, "Walkin' in a winter wonderland..." (it's not compulsory to sing this whilst skating but I highly recommend it - and want to know about it if you do!)
