Everyone who is anyone knows that the classic Melbourne attraction Gumbuya Park, reopened at the end of 2017 under the new name
Gumbuya World . The much anticipated Gumbuya World boasts four different zones of fun and entertainment for families, with one of the highlights being the splash-tastic water park; Oasis Springs. But did you know that Gumbuya World is open at weekends all winter long and there are plenty of attractions which don't involve having to don a bikini in Arctic weather conditions?
Every Saturday and Sunday the theme park is open from 10am until 4pm and the great thing about going in winter is the cost. An adult ticket costs $25 and a child ticket costs $22, which is a big saving on summer prices. Once you have paid your entry price, almost everything is included. You can enjoy unlimited rides in Oz Adventure and Outback Explorers which between them cater for kids (and adults!) of all ages.
If animals are more your thing you can explore the Wildlife Trail where more than 50 species of amazing animals are waiting to meet you. Little ones will enjoy the petting zoo and the walk-through wallaby and kangaroo enclosures. Oasis Springs is also open but with a twist. Instead of slipping and sliding down the waterslides, from noon onwards you can hit the water inside a Bumpa Zorb Ball or get some exercise on the Lazy River Pedal Boats – water fun without getting wet!
Gumbuya World is only 50 minutes South East of Melbourne on the Princes Hwy (M1) in Tynong North. Tickets are available for purchase at the park gate or you can
book online . Gumbuya World does not allow food or drink except a water bottle to be brought into the park, but you can purchase reasonably priced meals and snacks from the onsite cafes.
