If you enjoy walking, then join Georges River Council's guided
at Oatley Park. This walk is in celebration of
World Environment Day, which is 5 June 2021, the same day as the wander. Come and spend time outdoors with like-minded people. Being surrounded by nature helps you to calm and restore your body's natural rhythm.
Taking in nature's beauty will give your eyes a feast and the walk will help your fitness. On this guided wander, you will see and hear how things grow, what lives in this area and how the council uses funds from the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environments to improve the overall biodiversity of Oatley Park.
The park has had some sightings of the Powerful Owl. This owl prefers woodland habitats and open sclerophyll forest. You won't find them in wetlands or rainforests. Georges River Council is using funds to improve the habitat of Oatley Park for the owl population.
These owls roost during the day and can be heard hooting at night while looking for prey.
See links below for more information and make sure you book your spot to discover Oatley Park and the Powerful Owl habitats on Saturday June 5 from 1.00pm to 3.30pm.
Bookings are essential. Book at the Eventbrite
website.
